Re: Best scent ever

For me: Polo - Ralph Lauren

This will always be in my wardrobe. So complex, so masculine, so versatile.
Works equally well with a tennis shirt or tuxedo. With every time I wear it
I notice some...

Re: Cherry Scents

Geo F. Trumpers Sandalwood has a warm, cherry like thing going on. Generally the best bet I would say is to look for fragrances with some tobacco notes like Burberry London for men or Tom Fords...

Burberry London (new, plaid bottle version)

Perfect, soothing cinnamon-amber for dark fall day.
I really think Antoine Maisondieu is one of the
sharpest noses out there. Good stuff.

Re: Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille Appreciation Thread

I really like it as well and itīs definitely one of the standouts in a generally great line of fragrances.
It really captures that moist pipe tobacco aroma brilliantly. Together with some slightly...

Re: Fahrenheit Absolute - I own a bottle

Tried this at an airport today and all I can say is - wow. Itīs stuff like this that keeps ones faith in mainstream releases.

It has a light resemblance to the original, especially in the top....

Got a bottle for myself a few days ago and the compliments

Re: Today I Bought - December 2008

I got gift vouchers for Christmas at a very mainstream cosmetics chain
so the selection was limited, but I ended up with 3 gift sets:

Re: For 2008, which fragrance did you wear most often?

Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne or Polo Original, close tie...
Both extraordinarly good for formal use, a little bit of
good cop/bad cop for the office depending on my mood.

Re: Davidoff Adventure - tested again. So HOT I burned myself!

I really like Adventure and I agree it is somewhat similar to D&G's The One. But
it's even more reminiscent of Paul Smith London. I prefer the Davidoff over both though.
Slightly peppery, cozy warm...

Re: Polo Modern Reserve by Ralph Lauren - my review

Nice review Mike!

This has got me extremely interested as the original is
probably the mainstream fragrance (or any actually) that
I find myself drawn to mostly nowadays. For office use anyway....

Re: Similar Fragrances

I find the new Versace Pour Homme quite similar to Chanel Allure Homme Sport. Same type
of "milky" sweetness in the base.

Bond No. 9 - Andy Warhol Lexington Avenue from sample.

A great, contemporary gourmand with a suede feel. Somewhat
similar to Serge Lutens Daim Blond.
