Re: What is the best drydown on the planet?

Geranium pour Monsieur is great too. How does Ropion manage a drydown with something as fleeting as mint ?

What is the best drydown on the planet?

It's basically all about the drydown. A good opening is nice, but the drydown stays with you all day (or even longer). I choose my scents based on the drydown. Problem is, I don't like most drydowns...

Paestum Rose, wow!

Eau d'Italie's Paestum Rose: 17 positive reviews out of 17 here on basenotes and five stars by Chandler Burr. This must be one of the best scents ever created. I couldn't but order this one blind.

Re: expensive colognes that smell cheap and vice versa

It's a matter of taste, I guess. Reflection has a sweet and cloying amber accord, that hits the "cheap" trigger for me.

Re: Anything better than Amouage XXV?

I can't smell any incence in Himalaya.

Tauer Incense Rose comes close to Jubilation. It's a little brighter, more floral and les fruity, better to my nose but still close. A beautyful scent. So...

Re: Anything better than Amouage XXV?

Sour note in Amouage Epic

I get a pungent sour note in Epic Man right from the start to the bottom. Even the drydown ist dominated by it. Still very much detectable after 12 hours (!). I still don't know, if I like it but is...

Re: Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain - Blind Buy?

Don't buy blind. I did. Shouldn't have. Glad they sent a sample too and my bottle is still unopened in its original package. I hate that scent. The amber accord is just unbearable and stays on your...

Amouage-quick and dirty

Tomorrow I'll have a very short time (30 minutes at the most) for a testing of Amouage scents at Osswalds in Zurich. Given my preferences (fresh aromatics like GIT and fougères like Guerlain Vetiver,...

Re: Bois d'Orage / French Lover drydown

I really like it. The only reason I didn't buy it until now is that I like Vetiver Extraordinaire even better. It's true that it isn't worth the money, but then, considering the real production...

Re: molecule 1 or escentric 1

I sprayed Escentric 1, a week ago, on a jacket of mine. Then it hung for several days in my closet. Then I put it back on the other day. I couldn't really smell the Gendarme I was wearing that day on...

Re: What Are The BEST Shower gels Around?

The VE Showergel ist extremely good. It smells similar to the perfume.

I have the Vetiver shower gel by Guerlain, which ist quite good as well. More citrus than the Eau de Toilette. I also own the...

Re: What Are The BEST Shower gels Around?

The best shower gel EVER was New West. The scent wasn't even close to the cologne, which I didn't particularly like. Unfortunately it wasn't brought back along with the current reissue of the cologne.

Help on Amouage

Im considering to try some Amouage offerings. Considering, that I wear mostly Fougères and don't like heavy and sweet orientals, which one would you recommend I should try? Does something like a not...

Re: Cacharel Pour L'Homme - Vintage v Reformulated

Cacharel pour Homme was my signature back in the nineties. I bought a bottle some days ago after not having worn it for almost 20 years and I can't detect any differences. It's still as good as it...

Re: My best compliment to date...

Very nice. Some years ago I was carrying my little niece as she said to me: "you stink fine!". :-). Don't know what I was wearing that day. GIT probably.
