Tabac by Dominique Dubrana aka profumo.it

As a perfume freak, you haven't lived if you haven't tried this. It really is the finest tobacco fragrance around.

Re: Official Creed Boutique Now Online

What's your source? Not that I'm doubting you, but I still haven't found any evidence of a Creed perfume older than ca. 1970, and I really, REALLY would like to (Erwin Creed chanelling Sissi does not...

Thumbs up Re: Tiffany for Men?

It's a complex, rich scent which I would classify as a woody oriental - you get sweet spice very early on. I'd consider it more romantic than office wear, though it's not as in-your-face sweet as...

Turin notes Ambroxan (metallic amber synthetic), dihydromercenol (aquatic / detergent citrus synthetic) and octin esters (synthetic violet) as defining elements of GIT - all of these are in CW as...

Re: Which scent would you most like to be associated with?

Dukes of Pall Mall Cotswold, I suppose. English Gentlemen's style, completely unfashionable, but a superb scent with true charisma and individuality ;).

Re: What is the best drydown on the planet?

There are many beautiful drydowns. Two standouts are Patou pour homme and Piper Nigrum, both of which go through an amazing series of mutations throughout the day. True art.

Re: The Definitive Chanel Eau de Cologne Thread

Thanks for the description. Anything verging even only slightly on laundry detergent is a nono for me and I'm pretty sure I would like this a lot less than my usual go-to EdCs which happily cost a...

Re: No love for lavender?

I love the stuff. Royal Scottish Lavender, Haute Provence, Ulysse, Patou privé, Arôme 3, Caron puh and a few others in my wardrobe bear witness.

Re: Bois du Portugal - Dwindling...Reformulated?

I doubt it. It would seem one of their more popular scents and I don't notice any IFRA-critical components in there. The grey market is full of fluctuations. Perhaps Erwin Creed was serious about...

Re: Bond no 9 Signature perfume - initial impresions

They way you describe it, it seems to perfectly capture the dominant spirit of the whole line, as a signature fragrance should: derivative, qualitatively inferior pseudo-Luxury, i.e. mass-market in...

d'Orsay's Arôme 3 would be worth a try. It's not Privé, but it is a helluva great green and spicy lavender.

Re: Eau D'Orange Verte: formulation: 1979 vs. 1997 vs. 2009

I've only tried the new stuff once at a perfumery and found it decidedly inferior, as it smelled decidedly less of natural oils. What works for Terre d'Hermes is a desecration in the case of Ed'OV....

Great. I have no money, but I'll try to scrape together enough for the sample program. A good x-mas wish actually :)

Re: Creed Site vs Creed Site Case Study: Ambre Cannelle

We all know that pyramids are unreliable and serve marketing no less than information purposes. I suspect the changes in REL and TM aimed at defeminizing the older pyramids to avoid "real men don't...

Re: Berlin Wall 20th Anniversary

I think it kind of went downhill from 1989. There's a lot of resentment on both "sides" today - Wessis angry at having paid billions in subsidies to support the east to no effect, while their own...
