Re: Typically Feminine Notes in Masculine Fragrances

The first that comes to mind is the jammy, strawberry accord in Black XS by Paco Rabanne.

Also, I think there is a tiny floral element in Aramis that smells a bit like white flowers (gardenia,...

Re: Lutens lavenders

My experience with those two SL lavenders was very similar to yours.

Here's the thing: Encens et Lavande has such a realistic smell of incense, but not the smoking, burning type - rather incense...

Re: The Fruity Chypre

I would say Parure is a bit gentler (not quite as sharp and aldehydic) but it definitely shares that same jammy, fruit chypre aura.

This is one that I would definitely not recommend blind...

Re: Similarities between functional and fine fragrances

When I mop the floor with the Febreze scented Lavender & Vanilla Swisher wipes (and I turn on the self-cleaning oven - and it gets that ashy sort of smell) I swear my house smells like Gris Clair. ...

Re: What would you call "the leather Hermès wishes they'd made"?

Bel Ami, Hermessence Poivre Samarcande and Kelly Caleche all have a slight, whiff of leather in them. Nothing like Knize Ten, of course - but the leather is discernible.

What I don't understand,...

Re: Absinthe/Wormwood Fragrances

Re: Dior Cologne Blanche: How did I miss this?!

SoS have you smelled Flower by Kenzo and/or L' Eau d'Hiver by Frederic Malle? I think it and CB have that same powdery kind of floral vibe to them.

Oddly, so does the ultra-luxury, limited...

Re: Seeking Scent Closest To Musky Male Armpits

Try Jardin du Nil by MPG. Although once the stinky, armpit, stinky-cheese top notes fade, you will have to like florals because that's what it smells like afterwards.

Re: Absinthe/Wormwood Fragrances

One more I just remembered, for a real vivid interpretation of absinthe, is Absinthe by Ava Luxe. Gosh, it really floored me the first time I smelled it. And the juice is dark, pea green. Like...
