Re: Typically Feminine Notes in Masculine Fragrances
The first that comes to mind is the jammy, strawberry accord in Black XS by Paco Rabanne.
Also, I think there is a tiny floral element in Aramis that smells a bit like white flowers (gardenia,...

My experience with those two SL lavenders was very similar to yours.
Here's the thing: Encens et Lavande has such a realistic smell of incense, but not the smoking, burning type - rather incense...

Re: The Fruity Chypre
I would say Parure is a bit gentler (not quite as sharp and aldehydic) but it definitely shares that same jammy, fruit chypre aura.
This is one that I would definitely not recommend blind...

When I mop the floor with the Febreze scented Lavender & Vanilla Swisher wipes (and I turn on the self-cleaning oven - and it gets that ashy sort of smell) I swear my house smells like Gris Clair. ...

Re: What would you call "the leather Hermès wishes they'd made"?
Bel Ami, Hermessence Poivre Samarcande and Kelly Caleche all have a slight, whiff of leather in them. Nothing like Knize Ten, of course - but the leather is discernible.
