In the shadow of Havana - The other Gentlemen
There's been numerous threads about Havana, and its recent reformulation. But what's been ignored is the other 5 gentlemen standing in its shadow. I firmly believe that this recent collection is the...

I've no experience with them, but their website looks pretty shoddy. They can't even spell Clerance (sic) right! Like Scentemental said, there's better and more reputable e-retailers out there for...

Re: Say what you will about Le Labo....
Have you tried Aramis' Gentlemen collection? I can't think of many frag houses out there that have the width and depth of their range. And all are priced at $48 without the faux-french attitude,...

You should give the women's Edp a try. Many men here wear it and swear it's better than the Homme EdP version.

Re: Something in the mold of L'Occitane Eau des Baux
TF tobacco Vanille is somewhat similar but no cedar. Also, you may want to go light on the application of EdB as it's got some strong legs.

Re: Le Labo City Exclusives - Forget It!
I could rant on and on about Le Labo (I did a few years ago). Surprised they're still around given the economy. Ignore them and they will go away like the pretenders they are.

The Barbershop I never knew - Tales from a Salon boy
Frequently, I come across a review or post that references barbershop aromas or smells. When I was growing up, I was a salon boy as opposed to a barbershop boy or even a saloon boy;). That's right,...

Definitely the weakest in Caron's men's lineup. I'm on the fence on it myself. The huge sour apple/orange opening is kind of off-putting, but the musky drydown is more appealing.

Never smelled Macassar but I find most Rochas men's frags to be some of the best frags out there, particularly Lui, Moustache & Monsieur (vintage). Very affordable for the price too.
