Re: Recommendations for 'man-florals'?

Czech and Speake No.88 is a nice masculine rose.
Penhaligon's Castile is a nice neroli.

Neither of these would I describe as particularly "warm" though.

Re: What notes are responsible for a classy cologne

I agree; it's the blend, not the individual notes.

Re: Can someone with these scents attempt a layering for me?

I will take this opportunity to bump your thread and to add a comment. Since everyone's tastes are different, and I would suggest that everyone's sense of smell is different, you need to do this test...

Re: what is THAT similar note in GIT and Cool Water

Yes, I agree with sofresh, it's an aromachemical called dihydromercenol.

Re: Rive Gauche...

It is all in how confident you are. Yes, you could pull it off, but to me, I think it would appeal a bit more to a bit more mature demographic.

Name your absolute favorite office fragrances

I am always looking for great daytime (office) fragrances. I'd love to learn your favorites, and whether you've found anything recently.

My favorite office frags are: Terre d'Hermes, Blenheim...

Re: Fragrances you wear to intimidate others

I don't see how a fragrance could be intimidating. I have various degrees of like or dislike for fragrances, but they don't have any other effects that I can tell.

Re: So if I like Terre d"hermes, would I also like...

There is nothing else I've smelled that has that "flinty" note that TdH has. Orange frags without this note will not smell similar. I agree with Encre Noir if what you want is a nice vetiver frag...

Re: Leather Base

I haven't tried the Dunhill, but a couple of nice fragrances with a leather base are Derby and R de Capucci.

Re: AdP Colonia, Assoluta and Intensa-What differences?

Colonia and Assoluta are nice, refreshing takes on a traditional eaux (citrus and floral components, bright and somewhat shortlived). Intensa is something totally different; very little citrus or...

Re: What's Missing in my wardrobe?

I usually chuckle at the notion of a fragrance smelling "old" or "dated", but in the case of Aramis, I can understand. I must have an association of Aramis with old men. I also find Aramis to be far...

Re: Villoresi Uomo

I've tried only Spezie, Uomo, Vetiver, Piper Nigrum, and Yerbamate. They are all quite different. I don't detect a common note.
