Re: Coffee Time , coffee fragances

and Angélique sous la pluie and Bigarade Concentrée and most of all L'Eau d'Hiver! I'm not a fan of what he's doing at Hermès though...

Re: Opinions Wanted - Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille vs. L'Art et la Matiere lin

If I had to choose I'd say SDV but I believe they can be in the same wardrobe.

BTW, if we all didn't care for discussing structures, approaches, ingredients, etc. this would be a very boring...

Re: Opinions Wanted - Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille vs. L'Art et la Matiere lin

Note Vanillée is very good - wore it as my SotD today - but I dare say it's not a true vanilla fragrance. That's not to say there's no vanilla in it, but it only becomes dominant in the extreme...

Re: Would vetiver work as a parfum?

Djedi didn't work for me because after a fantastic animalic and leathery-rosy first hour it dried down to nothing more than vetiver+oakmoss...and it's not a dark vetiver but a rather fresh/green one,...

Re: Coffee Time , coffee fragances

I don't know whether I would want to smell like a coffee 'soliflore' but maybe a dark frag with a realistic coffee note, tobacco and maybe some rose or basil to balance things out..?

Re: Coffee Time , coffee fragances

I work part-time in a coffee bar as a barista but sadly I've never come across a fragrance that really smells like freshly-ground coffee... It just all smells enormously synthetic to me :(

Re: Would vetiver work as a parfum?

It doesn't necessarily have to be stronger on the vetiver, I think it's strong enough as it it. But my idea of a parfum is that it is not only more concentrated but that parfums also exhibit a few...

Re: Would vetiver work as a parfum?

I'm going to give that one a try!

I didn't like that one... then again I have a problem with Tauer's house style (which is also apparent in the base of Une Rose Chyprée) which doesn't agree...

Would vetiver work as a parfum?

Lately, the perfume industry has been carefully sliding away from fresh aquatics and going more into ambers/orientals. We've even seen some parfums for men -- Terre d'Hermès parfum, and Habit Rouge...

Re: Ylang Ylang Suggestions?

I like Parfumerie Generale's Ilang Ivohibe, it's pretty much straight-up ylang-ylang to my nose :)

Re: Do we have any video game fans here?

Yep, best in the series! Though, in the end the best adventure game around is still Secret of Mana... or maybe Chrono Trigger :p
