Re: Similar Fragrances to Allure Homme Sport?

I'd recommend shopping online. You can find Allure Homme Sport pretty cheap if you look around. Buying testers is what I used to do when I was in college and on a budget.

IMO the only scent that...

Re: Stronger Colognes

Most Oriental scents will give you better projection. As for loud fresh scents, my favorite are L'eau D'Issey and Chrome.

Re: Looking for a cheaper alternative to Creed.

Next time you're at a department store, try out the Sean John line. They were inspired (ripped off) from Creed scents.

Re: Basic Storage

My Creed and L'artisan bottles all leak if they're left laying on their side. I found this out when I was traveling and had the bottles stored in my luggage. While most bottles shouldn't leak, it's...

Re: Clean Musk

I'm not a big fan of heavy musk scents. But I really like CSP Musc Alize, LV Musk, and Kiehl's Musk as their use of musk is very light and not overpowering.

Re: Do you have a favorite Maitre Parfumer et Gantier fragrance?

The original formulation of Santal Noble is by far my favorite of MPG. It's the perfect balance between woody and gourmand notes IMO.

The newer version seems to lack the distinct coffee note of...

Re: czech&speake No 88 clone but less expensive

I think Lowe's Para Hombre is a dead ringer for C&S 88, but with a less pronounced rose note. They both share the same bergamot opening and smell very similar at first IMO.

Knize Ten is a cheaper...

Re: YSL Kouros or Body Kouros

My vote goes to Body Kouros. I'm not a fan of the original Kouros, but the Cologne Sport version is quite nice IMO.

Re: Geir - Better in Summer or Winter?

I prefer it in the colder weather. I find it gets cloying in the summer heat, especially when combined with sweat.

Re: GIT- CHez Bond comparison

Between the two I prefer Chez Bond. It lasts longer on me and lacks the signature Creed ambergris drydown (which I get tired of).

Re: YSL Riche Gauche - Similar to Body Kouros?!

I couldn't say it any better myself.

Body Kouros is an Oriental scent while Rive Gauche is a fougere. Rive Gauche is extremely dry and woody while Body Kouros is sweet and creamy IMO.

Re: Bois d'Argent

Honey and soft woods are what I get. It's my favorite from the trio.

Re: Your favorite fragance of Dior?

My vote goes to Bois d'Argent. It's my benchmark honey scent that I measure others by.

Re: a lutens you actually wear everyday

The only Lutens that I would consider an every day scent would be Chene. It's not too sweet so it can be worn in the summer as well as the winter. Others that were mentioned such as Arabie, Chergui,...

Re: Something Similar to Gucci Pour Homme II

I've always found Dzing similar to Gucci PH II, but without the tea note.

I think it's a relatively safe blind buy if you like Oriental scents.

Re: Most Likeable Caron

Pour un Homme is my favorite. It's similar to Le Male but not as synthetic IMO.

Re: Gucci pour homme II

I don't get any violet from Gucci PH 2 at all. The scent is more focused on the cinnamon, tea, and woody notes on my skin.

Re: Hunting for an Oriental Rose...

For an Oriental rose fragrance, I'd highly recommend sampling Lorenzo Villoresi Musk. It's a soft, sweet, and powdery rose note. It's not very masculine but one of the best rose scents out there IMO.

Re: Long lasting and monster sillage

My top three long lasting scents with "monster sillage" are:

1. A*men
2. Joop Homme
3. Le Male

I've had a bottle of each one since 2004 and I'm not even half way through any of them. 1-2...

Re: Something exlusive, luxuriously and elegant?

I would add Chanel Platinum Egoiste to the list of recommendations but it's too common.

For something more exclusive I'd recommend Caron Tabac Blond.
