I liked Rose de Bois, also. So did almost everybody who reviewed it on the female...

Profumo's Incense and Tobacco Fragrances for Men

<Profumo.it> makes some nice, all-natural masculine fragrances, especially those that feature frankincense or tobacco. I have been posting reviews of samples on the Feminine Fragrance Discussion,...

Re: Profumo Samples: Quarry's Group - Second Parcel

I got two new ones today, Amber Chocolate (listed as Chocolate Amber in the Directory) and Don Corleone. Both are beautiful, but they are quite different.

Amber Chocolate - Gourmand lovers, if...

Re: Note Identification Project - Please Join In!

Okay, LIB. I'll make an exception for you. I've added them.
If someone else wants to start Part Two of this project, more reviews can go on a second document.

Re: Note Identification Project - Please Join In!

I've done my document in Microsoft Word 97 so that everybody can open it, even if they have kludgy, outdated software like me.
ECaruthers is going to do something clever in Excel spreadsheet and a...

Re: Note Identification Project - Please Join In!

Great news!
ECaruthers has made a wonderful suggestion--organizing the Note Identification reviews according to note.
This will yield a fabulous Note Identification Guide.
We are working on it...

Re: Vol de Nuit - current formulation?

With VDN, the "lacking feature" is probably a high concentration of real oakmoss, whose synthetic version falls short of the real thing.
Possibly (and I'm just guessing here) it may be due to a...

Fabulous. Nice job Ubu.
And, to all of you, I would say, "Amazing!"
But your response probably would be, "Elementary, my dear Watson."
For the readers' information, the Scent Factory line was...

Re: Profumo: Team Two - More Sampling Impressions

Good descriptons, Asha. In enjoyed reading them.
You know, I am going to change the heading on my thread to "Quarry's Group, Second Parcel." That should clear everything up.
Now the next person...

Re: 3x3 Blind Sniff Round 2...."The Spice of Life"

It probably is a masculine, especially since it is without sweetness.
That dark substance has got me stumped. Some ambers are very dark, almost animalic or smoky, but they would still make the base...

Rooty, vegetal. Yum.
As in orris? As in "fresh carrot?"

Re: Which women's fragrances smell like " money"

I used to think that about Jean Marc Sinan. When it was discontinued, the closest I came to finding something that smells like it was Knowing, although it is sweeter.
I agree with 24 Faubourg and...

Re: 3x3 Blind Sniff Round 2...."The Spice of Life"

Other brands with natural cinnamon and orange are L'Occitane and Bigelow. The L'Occitane is home spray, whereas the Bigelow is a perfume oil. Neither lists vanilla, though.

Re: Carcinogen ingredients in perfume

Alfatoxins are produced by fungi that are common in nature. Stored grain crops can be contaminated by this mold. Here in the Midwest, the corn harvest is routinely tested. Other grain, seed, and...

Re: Profumo: Team Two - More Sampling Impressions

Persona and Aalacho?
Okay, my guess for commonalities based on everyone's impressions would be frankincense and vetiver.

Re: Profumo: Team Two - More Sampling Impressions

Thanks for posting, Asha.
It is true, the "mothball" aspect of ambergris. It's musty.
Aalacho was mystifying, wasn't it? In the middle notes, did it sweeten up for you? I'm curious to find out...
