Re: Any recommendations for a oriental incense type of scent?

The recently released Francis Kurkdjian Cologne Pour Le Soir would be an excellent consideration for this as it is strongly incense based, warm and rich. I would highly recommend it.

Re: Maison Francis Kurkdjian Cologne pour Le Soir

I agree Cologne Pour Le Soir is fantastic, easily my favourite of the line. Long lasting too.

Re: Your "Enough is Enough!" fragrance.

It could never happen for me, simply because I am capricious and my mood changes daily so the fragrance I wear changes accordingly.

Re: Scent similar to michael kors?

It's funny because I didn't like MK at first, but it has become one of my favourite fragrances. It is quite simply fantastic and I wear it often, particularly around my gf who loves it.

I have Le...

Re: What's the most geeky cologne?

I don't think geeks would wear cologne, but if they did they'd probably have some vague recollection of something their Dad wore so something like the aforementioned Old Spice or Aramis would...

Re: Afternoon Tea At Liberty in London with Francis Kurkdjian

H VM, he was reluctant to name those he rated. His major complaint seemed to be that many "perfumers" don't actually go in the lab with the test tubes and get their hands dirty with the actual...

Re: Afternoon Tea At Liberty in London with Francis Kurkdjian

On the distribution front, he is currently securing outlets in key areas which are fairly exclusive in their nature, so he mentioned that he was looking at locations in the South of France either in...

Re: Afternoon Tea At Liberty in London with Francis Kurkdjian

Hiya, thanks for that, it was lovely to meet you too.

I look forward to attending more events like that, it's good for Basenotes as a whole I think.

Re: Feminine scents no guy could pull off

I would concur with Fracas, which I love on a woman, but I just don't think I could wear it.

I would also struggle with Gardenia from Penhaligon's Anthology range, oh and also Violetta from the...

Re: What is the best fresh, soapy type of scent?

Two of my favourite fragrances with soapy feel to them are Helmut Lang EDC (which is far more than a cologne strength, it lasts all day) and Prada Amber Pour Homme.

Re: Afternoon Tea At Liberty in London with Francis Kurkdjian

Thanks guys. I found him a fascinating man, one I would have liked to interview in quite some depth. Mike, I think Danielle took some pictures, so maybe she'll post them.

Afternoon Tea At Liberty in London with Francis Kurkdjian

Francis Kurkdjian is a wiry, beared figure, softly spoken and by his own estimation, rather shy. However, get him on the subject of Maison Francis Kurkdjian and he is anything but reserved.

A...

Re: Leather Scents

Sorry to bring the tone down for a moment, but my favourite leather scent of the moment is Lynx Instinct, it's really rather good and long lasting too.

Re: Anyone Tried Black XS...

Re: Carlos santana ??

I like the packaging, I loved the bottle, but the fragrance was meh as far as I was concerned. I bought it blind off the internet, wore it once and sold it on Ebay at a profit.

Re: help me here

I would go with Third Man every time out of that list. It's a beautiful fragrance, elegant, non-offensive and distinctive. And it LASTS.

Re: Was L'Anarchiste a big disappointment ?

In a word, no. I loved it from the start.

What is more remarkable, try it on female skin, my girlfriend can wear it and smells utterly divine.
