True about the 1oz-ers. Fakers generally want to maximize their illicit profits by bottling larger amounts. 1oz bottle isn't worth their trouble.

Re: expensive colognes that smell cheap and vice versa
Pretty much anything by Cuba Paris smells like more money than it is. Which is not hard to do, I guess, since most of the line can be had for about $6 for a 1.17oz . . . cigar/bottle. But some of...

Fragrancenet is a reputable dealer. I've bought Creed from them before, including GIT, Himalaya, and SMW without a problem. Can't say what's going on with yours. You might want to talk to them...

Re: My Havana Arrived!
Sounds good! My advice is . . . just give it a few minutes. Havana is very bitter to my nose for a minute or two before developing into something really special.

Re: My Havana Arrived!
I ordered from BG on October 5th. It shipped on the 19th and arrived yesterday. I ordered when it simply said "back ordered" and had no ship date estimate. It switched to a "no later than 22nd"...

My Havana Arrived!
Soooooo happy. I ordered Havana from Bergdorf Goodman and it's finally here. A very unique, very complex frag, that I'll have to take some time to get to know.
The opening I find overwhelming,...

Welcome to BN! I have a few suggestions from my personal collection (I'm 29, so not that far off from you) that might fit into your wardrobe style without just blending in. I'm leaving off the ones...

Re: Your top 3 everyday, workhorse fragrances.
Most recently for fall:
Dunhill X-Centric
Cuba Red
Azzaro Pure Vetiver
All cheap enough to wear daily without having to morosely watch the liquid line go down in the bottle.
For summer I...

Try Cuba Red:

It's a cheapo, but pretty good stuff. Nice tobacco note in there. And even if it isn't exactly what you're looking for, you can't go...

"What life was like before Basenotes for you?"
Scentless and boring.
Haha! Actually, the best frag I had ever used before Basenotes was Armani Code. But usually I just sprayed on some AXE.

Good point. I did have the sense that they are sort of parallel with each other at the note level. Not sure how to describe it, but I think your "horizontal" label works nicely. I suppose I should...

Tobacco / Coffee / Chocolate ?
This seems like it would be an interesting combination, perhaps over some woods or vetiver. Like smoking a pipe and drinking hot mocha in an old time coffee house. Does anyone know of any frag that...

Yeah, Havana's going to be a blind buy for me. But that's okay. Most of my frags have been blind buys, because I don't trust my nose in the department store. There's too much distraction, and no...

For anyone looking for Havana by Aramis, I ordered it from BergdorfGoodman.com, which I suspect is the same thing as Neiman Marcus. The sites are pretty much identical.
In any case, when I...
