Re: Dec '07 Details magazine - The Ultimate Guide to Buying Cologne

Men's magazines articles are trashy, barely concealed advertisements and atrocious writing. I never buy them and if I do read them, it's at the bookstore with a cup of coffee.

Re: Burr gives Citron de Vigne by Fresh three stars

One of my current faves is Fresh's Cannabis Santal. If this one even approaches within a few miles of CS, I'm game.

Re: recommend me a unisex fragrance please....

CK One, all the way. Guaranteed not to offend but delight everyone. Very linear, but also very wearable.

Re: The fragrance of a tobacco shop?

I don't know if I agree with Chergui for this category. Micheal for Men, perhaps and yes, it's a good fragrance. Baldessarini from Hugo Boss is another I like for its Tobacco notes.

Re: riverside drive or chez bond?

Interesting thread. I had to choose between Riverside Drive and Bleecker Street once, a long time ago and I chose Riverside Drive. While I didn't (and don't) hate Riverside Drive, I'm now sure I...

Re: A*Men and Rochas Man

Take it from someone who's been burned too many times: Do not buy fragrances blind! I know how tempting it is to do, but Do not buy fragrances blind.

Re: Reverie au Jardin by Tauer

Tauer's only perfume I like (and the first I actually got an unsolicited comment about from a random chick) is L'air ... that tar-note puts me off a lot of his other stuff.

Re: Creed Bois de Portugal

BdP is not that special; it's good, to be sure, but not enough to make me want to buy it blind. Get a sample, wear it, if you like it enough to spend that much money on it, buy it. You have to live...

Re: Do you feel special when you disagree with a consensus?

This is kind of a silly question, and I won't answer it!

Re: L'Homme Sage

H'm ... look, in life, it always boils down to what YOU think or like.

Every one is born and dies alone.

Masculine and feminine scents are marketing ploys, wear what YOU like. If the lady in...

Re: Finest Sandalwood fragrance out there?

There have indeed been quite a lot of threads about the best Sandalwood. I like:

o MPG Santal Noble
o Tam Dao

The Perfume Critic once had a competition to pick the best Sandalwood, you may...

Re: Roger Federer 'RF' line

Rozher, great Tennis player, perhaps more in touch with his feelings than most but oh well. I'll spend what I need to, regardless of the source, if it's good enough.

Re: S o T D - Friday, February 6

Terre d'Hermes.

Reading Dottore Turin's review of this good frag, I notice he doesn't think it has any terre in sight. I humbly disagree. This one's got quite a hit of mineral earthiness although...

Re: Burr gives I Am King by Sean John three stars

I am constantly surprised by the duality of my feelings for Crap Daddy's product. I didn't expect to like Unforgivable yet I did. It's no masterpiece, but it's solid.
I've not yet smelled I Am King...
