Re: Creed's claim of royalty and use of naturals (Turin content)

As usual, there exist those who talk the talk but rarely ever walk the walk. If one feels slighted by Creed's prententious marketing, that individual is entitled to file suit against Creed and...

Re: Creed's claim of royalty and use of naturals (Turin content)

Creeds on the whole are classic, simplistic, masculine scents that not everyone can pull off.
Actually, it takes a special guy to pull them off.

Re: Synthetic, but not Synthetic Smelling

I agree with you, LuciusVorenus. While every fragrance contains synthetic ingredients, some smell more natural than others. Of course, the tradeoff is that fewer synthetics used usually translates to...

Re: Creed BayRhum Vetiver=Regular Bayrum?

I have a small vial of Creed Bayrhum Vetiver which I probably wear once a year. The SA decanted one for me and it has since been mercifully discontinued. It smells like bay leaves and clove but...

Re: Perfume on head hair...... healthy?

"Brylcreem - a little dab'll do ya". This is the best kept secret in men's grooming. It conditions your hair, adds body, and a deep shine without stiffness. Every guy should try this once in his life...

Re: What is this note? (Answer: Juniper Berry!)

Yeah, the Baie de Genievre smells like a freshly made gin and tonic. I've never smelled anything quite like it.

Re: Which Store Should I Get SMW From.. SAKS or Bergdorf's.....

I have returned Creeds which were unsprayed simply because I had changed my mind about my purchase. Nowhere did I ever imply quality control issues. Stop reading between the lines and hijacking Creed...

Re: Which Store Should I Get SMW From.. SAKS or Bergdorf's.....

I have both and they've still been snotty to me. Maybe it's because I go there during lunch several times a week for a refresher.

Sak's will allow returns on Creed with no problem, if that is an issue with you.

Re: Rive Gauche. mmmm.

First of all, Gillette Foamy comes in a red can and not orange. Secondly, Ambre Canelle smells like Old Spice and not Gillette Foamy. I wonder if you've smelled either.

Re: How do BN reviews influence your sampling and purchasing?

Basenotes reviews are only good for telling you how bad a scent is, not necessarily how good it is.

Re: The importance of brand, concept, and look.

Anyone who buys a perfume bottle based on aesthetics is just as much a victim of marketing as those who buy according to name brand or reputation.

Re: Wait! ... you may be ruining your fragrance ... News at 11

Someone show me proof that a perfumer recommends that you rub their fragrance into your skin. I have never seen that in the instruction manual of any box of perfume. Who cares about bruising...

Re: What is this note? (Answer: Juniper Berry!)

If you want to know what real juniper berry smells like, I would suggest Baie de Genievre from Creed.

Re: Better to buy Creed in smaller bottles?

The more recent Creed EDP's (post 1985) have a similar drydown so you might get away with owning only one or two. Those come in 1.0 oz bottles. However, the older Creed EDT's (pre-1985) are all...
