Re: Aramis Havana Reissue

Picked up JHL and Havana at my local Nordies; they also had the full "Gentleman's" Collection. Great stuff and a good value at $48 for 100mls. :) Glad to see these two classics back on the market.

Re: Spotted at Marshall's

The Cuir Amethyste I saw was the 50ml size for $29.99 plus tax. I'd also be on the lookout for some of the others... especially Ambre Soie (which was always my favorite). If anybody finds it and...

Re: Wanted: Gucci Rush for men!

^VERY tough to find reasonably. A store near me has the 1.7 for about $80, but I never see the 3.4 oz. Being discontinued, the price has gotten rather high...

Re: Sillage monsters and sillage wimps. Best and worst.

Nobody has yet mentioned YSL Body Kouros, Sillage Beat extraordinaire???

Two sillage wimps are also two of my all-time favorites... Helmut Lang Cuiron and Helmut Land EdC. Of course, I think the...

Re: Splash on's - your favorite Aftershaves/eau de colognes

Parfums Berdoues 1902 Naturelle EdC... wonderful stuff, comes in a gigantic 14oz bottle, giving you enough to splash to your heart's content.

I also must profess that in the heat of summer, the...

Re: Voile Terracotta d'ete

Just ordered a bottle from scentiments; looking forward to it! I usually don't do blind buys anymore... but somehow this Guerlain slipped through my fingers and I've never sniffed it. Luckily, for...

Re: Scammer Alert and general marketplace advice

Just curious if there has been any news about the scammer? Did anybody's efforts ever bear fruit? Did he get caught? Has anybody else been scammed?

Re: "Common Scents" Fragrance Oils: Jicky... anybody tried?

Yes, I think the more complex the mixture or more "subtle" the fragrance, the tougher it is for them to approximate given the materials that they have.

I mean, something with key notes that are...

Re: "Common Scents" Fragrance Oils: Jicky... anybody tried?

Well, got my fragrance oil yesterday. Sadly, Quarry's experience with Jicky is about the same as mine.

Strangely, it's not like they didn't TRY to approximate Jicky, it's just like maybe the...

Re: eau de toilette=toilet water?

Is the OP's question serious? It almost seems like a joke. (haha)

Anyway, "toilet" doesn't always have the connotation of what the OP has in mind... the above poster's mention of "grooming" is...

Re: Would you ever buy a litre of your favourite scent?

Thanks for the info!

Considering that in the US the parfum is $305 for 30mls (or $10 per ml), 1300 euros for 500ml of parfum sounds like an absolute bargain.

Of course, as much as I love...

Re: Would you ever buy a litre of your favourite scent?

I'm very curious, as a fellow Jicky lover... how much does a bottle that large cost? Is it the EdT, EdP, Parfum? And, where did you get it (I assume from the Guerlain store?)

All I ever see in...

Re: Would you ever buy a litre of your favourite scent?

I wouldn't do it for Vetiver, but I'd probably consider it for Jicky in the EdT or the PdT. I'd love to have enough of it to spray with reckless abandon, instead of being miserly with my small...

Re: orange blossom, special

Guerlain's Flora Nerolia is another unique take on the note, by blending it with Jasmine.

Creed Neroli Sauvage is a safe, uber-classy neroli scent, though I usually like something a little more...

Re: Gucci Rush for Men EdT for sale anyone?

Re: Application - all sprays to one spot on chest? Also, what is "8m"?

^I'm with Jenson... also, spraying it all on the same spot makes the atomizer itself useless... the point of a spray is giving a broader, more even distribution of scent around an area.

Re: Best Masculine Floral Scent You Smelled?

^Agree with the above.

Rose, historically, was a very masculine note, so pretty much any rose-heavy fragrance can be easily worn by men. To that end, Montale Aoud Queen Roses is really quite...

Re: Ordered Guerlain L'Instant Extreme EDP blind, yay or nay?

I never recommend buying anything blind, but of all those that you could, I'd say that the EdP of L'instant is a good one. If you like L'instant, you'll love the Extreme. If you don't, you'll have...

Re: "Common Scents" Fragrance Oils: Jicky... anybody tried?

Yeah, that was my question, but I was just surprised that they'd even have Jicky. I can understand having the newest, hottest thing, but Jicky? Given that they were so cheap, I thought I'd give it a...

Speaking of Cuiron, is there any truth to the rumor that they are re-releasing it? I've heard this here and there, but as yet have seen no new stock anywhere.

I sure hope they are putting it out...

"Common Scents" Fragrance Oils: Jicky... anybody tried?

Anybody ever tried the Jicky Perfume Oil from "The Common Scents?" I'm a big Jicky fan and have several of the concentrations from Guerlain, but I was just curious if anybody had tried the...

Re: [HELP!] Colognes that smell like bad aftershave (ex Menin)

Caron Pour un Homme has a barbershop sort of creamy feel, so some love it... some hate it.

And, I'm with Attorney and knightowl. Opium may not be everybody's cup of tea, but it's hardly THAT bad....

Re: Decant Sales or Swaps no longer permitted on BN

Agreed; but the sad thing is that most industries are too short-sighted to let the free market actually BE a free market. They don't realize that allowing a consumer to have all the information and...

Re: Decant Sales or Swaps no longer permitted on BN

Yeah, if anything, this decision on the part of the fragrance industry mirrors the problem Record Execs had with downloading... they "fudged" the math by saying that every song downloaded meant a...
