Re: FragranceX.com fake or original perfumes?

I don't know if the original poster represents a competitor or is a potential customer who has found slander on the internet placed by competitors or inorant/paranoid customers- either way the...

Re: FragranceX.com fake or original perfumes?

They absolutely do not sell fakes. Anyone writing that is either ignorant or deliberately trying to misinform.
This company has been used for years by many well informed basenotes regulars and I...

Re: Chanel Pour Monsieur Vintage

Tim,
When I say say vintage, mean the old yellow formulation which was sold in the the USA as Chanel for Men rather than the reformulated green version of the chanel pour monsieur which I...

Re: Creed Site vs Creed Site Case Study: Ambre Cannelle

Not sure what you mean?
Creed fragrances vary quite a bit but some contain significant quantities of high quality naturals. Even Turin who is very badly disposed towards Creed as he doesn't like...

Re: Creed Site vs Creed Site Case Study: Ambre Cannelle

As many know - I am a big fan of the fragrances, some in particular, but the crap they have written on that site is astounding. Look at the REL "history". Utter rubbish.

Re: The New Aramis Havana- my review

I think there are minor differences - this is from a side to side simultaneous test.
It reminds me of the differences between guerlain formulations - i.e. done very well. The base seems a little...

Re: Habit Rouge "Light EDT"?

That parlance is a bit broader than Guerlain. Its French ;):D.

Re: Perfume Allergy....getting old.

Thanks for that interesting perspective.
I have a number of allergies: hayfever, some food allergies, some solvents etc
Despite these, I have only ever had an allergy to one or two fragrances and...

Re: Eau D'Orange Verte: formulation: 1979 vs. 1997 vs. 2009

The old one can't possibly continue - its basically made of IFRA restricted ingredients - various citrus components and oakmoss.

Re: Fake Creed SAMPLES? Wtf?

I have found some of the carded samples of Creeds to go off, unlike the bottle fragrances which seem to be pretty resilient. I suspect these are sometimes poorly stored in light or heat.

Re: IFRA restrictions - which has you most worried/stocking up?

I have been horading citruses for some time. Eaux de Cologne are finished really. The quality will never be the same. Trumper Limes was changed in '06 or '07 for the worse and is changing again I...

Re: Habit Rouge "Light EDT"?

Yes it is a different fragrance. It is quite citrus focused, with a strong, long lasting neroli-ish note up top. I quite like it, but ultimately prefer the EDC.

Re: Lorenzo Villoresi Aqua di Colonia

Yes but classic EDC's are meant to used by the handful, not a little spray here or there.

Re: Lorenzo Villoresi Aqua di Colonia

Yeah that's jean marie rather than gegenuber ;-)
..But actually with its beautiful bergamot and neroli I would argue that villoesi sits somewhere between the two - albeit closer to JM Farina.

Re: Traditional Cologne?

When you say traditional cologne, I assume you mean in the Gegenuber/R&G mold?
If so there are a couple with musky bases, the premier of which would be Villoresi. Also Trumper Cologne has a musk...

Re: Farina Gegenuber

http://www.farina1709.com/

The current formulation is not great in my opinion. The bergamot is nice and it has several other quality ingredients. Unfiortunately, these are swamped with not-so-nice...
