    Hello!
Just a note to let you know I received the FANTASTIC package of samples in today's mail. I am overwhelmed by the selection and can't wait to test them all. Thanks again for the generosity.

    Dear AromiErotici:

I am new to basenotes and a regular user of what your social group defines as Powerhouse Fragrances (please see my wardrobe). I am not sure how I go about joining your Powerhouse Fragrance Group, and I was wondering if you could briefly explain the process to me since I am only a Basenoter for 2 months now. I 'subscribed' to the Powerhouse Fragrance Group, but I am not sure if this is this same as becoming an active participant in it. I would very much like to join this social group.

Thank you very much for any information you can give me.

    Sincerely,

    SillageMonger

Eau Fresh by Bogart. Have you tried this scent? If so I'd like to hear your comments on it.

    AromiErotici ;

I'm interested in small vials of the following:
    --Carven pour homme
    --273 Indigo
    --Egoiste
    --Equipage
    --Eau de Rochas
    --Ricci Club Haute

Also, I'm looking for a light, summertime scent. I recently found a great deal on Bulgari PH. To this newbie's nose, it fits the bill quite well, but I'd like another for a changeup. Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    RJR

    Hello,
I'm very new to basenotes and a novice at fragrances all together. I enjoy reading your reviews as they are as blunt and honest as can be, which is a good thing. I intend to start a collection and I have worn Envy,Pi,Le male and some others. I recently got terre d'hermes and i love the scent. I have received a few compliments. However i need MORE.Please be kind and recommend.

Where are the risk-taking designer houses? Do they exist anymore?

Have you noticed that controversial fragrances usually succeed over the long haul? Compare any one of them to a non-offensive,middle-of-the-road, majority pleasing release and the scent that refuses to take chances will generate a certain amount of $$$ upon public introduction, then fade into obscurity. The one that polarizes

I'll tell you something, this has been difficult and expensive. The outlay of cash is unavoidable; whether buying blind or from the numerous samples it would take to get that "fit" you're looking for.

All in all, after wearing and at least trying so many different variations of the common themes, you at last come to the place where you know what works from what house.....and what doesn't.

For each of us ( I suppose), every House offers maybe a few gems that...

A fragrance snob is something I am absolutely not. I somehow maintain an open mind trying new scents and am always hopeful I'll run across a scent that is good to go.

The releases over the last 5 years or so have left me wanting....really wanting. Since I am basically a designer guy who only sporadically samples / buys niche, I have found only one recent release that is bottle worth for me. Dirty English to be exact.....and even DE doesn't stack up as well as most of the classic juice...

Impulsive by nature, I decided a year ago to accumulate vintage frags ( in excellent condition mind you ) for the purpose of starting a store in 2016 when my wife retires. She is 6 years my senior and passively amused by my "hobby".

My intent is to have a very small business she can busy herself with in retirement and of course, it justifies my insane purchases. "It's all going into the war chest honey....you know, for our future store".

I have been mulling this over lately since I have begun to collect discontinued frags. There's no question it is an expense to do this, but I cannot help but lean toward the mindset that the economy will eventually return to a manageable state.

During times like this, fragrances of this ilk are a tough sell except to a minority. You think you would see prices on these discontinueds come down, but I haven't really seen that. At least not yet.

People who don't have a...
