Does this mean you're a Man & you enjoy Narcisse Noir? That is like a revelation to me. As an Artist & Musician., I rely heavily on what I consider Aromatherapy. But I kinda thought I was the only one I guess. Flowers (& Beauty) are for everyone!
I use Van Cleef & Arpels 'Muguet Blanc' as Sleeping Potion & Pillow Spray.
I Wear TOM FORD's 'Black Orchid' & 'Champaca Absolute'
    AND NOW, TONIGHT - INFLUENCED BY YOUR POSITIVELY PERSPICACIOUS PROSE;

I JUST PURCHASED THE "NARCISSE NOIR" IN BOTH THE 1.7oz EDT & THE .5oz PURE PARFUM ( UNSNIFFED HEHE )

!!! It looks as if the new Parfum comes in the same little bottle w/ the Black Narcissus Crystal Stopper! This sounds like the perfect one for me. I hope it envelops and surrounds with REAL Flower Power!

DO YOU KNOW -> Is the NEW 'Narcisse Noir' (in the Flower Bottle) The SAME formula from 1911?

If so,. That Trancends Time & Space. That is so interesting, fascinating and ... SPECIAL !!!

    Thank you so much!!!

    Metro Man:

Keep it up. I quite enjoy your reviews. You stay very on top of new releases which is needed. You keep the massive negativity to a minimum which I appreciate in making assessments of something which can be highly subjective.

    Metro Man,
I understand that you are co-organizing a Boston fragrance event in August that culminates in a visit to Neil Morris. Is this so? I have been corresponding with David Garten recently -- have just received some phenomenal samples -- and would love to attend. Could you tell me the particulars or refer me to a page where I can register? Thanks so much.

Hey...how can I send you my cell phone number privately? Is this conversation private? I want you to be able to contact me in Boston. I have Ida & Neil's numbers...need to get Comdiva's. We'll be staying at her house & I can't wait!

As I’ve said in the past one of the reasons I’m doing SotW is to see whether the actions of the community match up to the words on the forums. Over the last couple of weeks there have been three opportunities for me to check whether our words as a community match our actions in what we wear.
The first is this thread around Acqua di Parma Colonias
http://community.basenotes.net/showthread.php?t=211984
Throughout this thread there is a debate about which Colonia is best. There...

For the month of June I decided to wear nothing but samples. As there were a couple of days off for SSD’s I decided to extend it until July 5th so there would be 29 scents sampled in all. In Part I the first 13 scents were discussed and now in Part II the remaining 16.
Guerlain Jicky---Made for a man but loved by women especially the women of Basenotes. I’ve been dying to try this since noticing that this is the ladies’ equivalent to Terre D’Hermes as far as how many of them wear it. ScentMother...

Once again the confounded servers and the specter of work keep me from posting to the blog in a regular manner. I’ve been spending the month of June going through a bunch of samples to see if there was anything I wanted to try more of. In this post I’m going to go through the scents I tried in the first half of the month and next week I’ll return with the scents from the second half.
Jo Malone Mandarin, Basil and Lime---After loving Black Vetyver Café and not having longevity issues with...

"Fashion dies, style remains"
Words spoken by Yves St. Laurent and quoted many times this past week on the occasion of his death at 71. His death has caused me to reflect on where style began, for me. It began in the mid 70's as I moved through high school. It began as I wanted to look good for my own self-confidence as well as to attract girls. It began as I looked at GQ for the first time and thought, I want to look like that. It began when I bought my first pair of tailored pants...

Tonight we observe a mysterious event I call “The Jicky Affair”. I, like many other Basenoters, was looking forward to the release of the 8th Annual Basenotes Awards. Not only was I curious to see the winners but it would signal the end of Grant’s long nightmare getting the site re-coded. As I would think about the results, based on my SotW, I expected Terre D’Hermes to have a strong showing which it did. Additionally I also expected Guerlain Jicky to do similarly. When the results were released...
