I do not mean favorite 'el cheapo', drugstore scents; rather I am referring to 'best-kept-secret' types of things, which are really good quality-wise, yet perhaps undiscovered or unpopular or for some other reason found really affordably. (Like the Balmains!)

Gathering together all of the experience of the population of Base Notes I thought it might make a good thread for visitors as well as ourselves to identify the fragrances that most closely are identified with the Christmas Season. So, put down that glass of eggnog for a moment and type a thoughtful and educational piece on what fragrances most remind you of Christmas and why, would you? I look forward to reading all of your responses. I would like to think I will hear from all of you in the spirit of the Season. Humbug is prohibited.

The description of this soap intrigued me, "the smell of newly mown lawns on a Sunday afternoon." The notes listed are nettle and lavender. The soap is only available by mail order, since it is from the Retro line. The retros were quirky products which didn't attract or maintain a large enough customer base to warrant shelf space.
I can see why this wouldn't appeal to the typical LUSH customer. It has a very green, leafy and grassy scent. Not a sweet flower or tooty-fruity note in sight! Needless to say, I like it. The bar is bright green and does indeed smell like freshly-cut grass. I don't get any lavender here, herbal or floral.
